Mitch isn't your typical radio host.
As an adventurer, poet, mountain man, nightclub deejay, radio announcer, creator of immersive experiences, and above all else, a lifelong lyric writer. And after spending decades searching for the perfect way to bring his songs to life, he built Rim Radio as a one-of-a-kind experiment in music.
But that's not really the story.
How he got here is.
While most kids listened to mom or dad sing a sweet wake-up song or lullaby at bedtime in the early sixties, Mitch spent his childhood listening to rock 'n roll songs at an eardrum-blasting level. No, not by record or radio, but by his mother's only choice of babysitters—his brother's four-piece rock 'n roll band.
Most kids probably would have been running for the hills after one rehearsal.
Not Mitch.
The more he listened, the more he loved it.
In fact, he got so good at listening that when the band finished writing a new song, they'd often ask him what he thought of it.
Around the same time, something else was happening.
While other kids were writing poems because a teacher assigned them, Mitch wrote them because he couldn't help himself. Poems, verses, choruses, fragments of ideas—sometimes a handful a day. They didn't look much like poetry. They looked like song lyrics.
The only problem?
He had nowhere to put them.
Fast forward to college.
His love for music eventually found an outlet as a nightclub deejay and part-time college radio host. He loved both because he loved what music could do—lift a room, move a crowd, tell a story, or completely change the mood of a moment.
But while the radio and nightclub gigs paid the bills, writing remained his constant companion.
He wrote whenever and wherever he could.
His work eventually gained enough attention that he was even offered an opportunity to enter a studio partnership built around his songwriting. After much consideration, he declined. Freedom mattered more to him than contracts, and he found greater satisfaction sharing lyrics with singer-songwriter friends than chasing the traditional music business path.
Then life happened.
Careers.
Family.
Responsibilities.
Forty years came and went.
Yet through it all, one thing never changed.
Mitch kept writing.
Every notebook, every folder, every scrap of paper became another place to store lyrics waiting for their moment.
Occasionally, he'd bring some of those lyrics into recording studios, hoping to finally hear the songs the way he imagined them. More often than not, however, the finished product missed the mark. The vision in his head and the song coming through the speakers never quite met in the middle.
Then something unexpected happened.
AI music technology arrived.
For the first time, the gap between the songs Mitch imagined and the songs he could actually create began to disappear.
Suddenly, decades of lyrics had a voice.
And that voice became Rim Radio.
A radio station built not around a playlist, but around a lifetime of lyrics.
A station where genres aren't restricted by formulas, demographics, or industry rules. A station where a folk song can sit beside a rock anthem, where a country ballad can lead into a cinematic soundtrack, and where every emotion gets a seat at the table.
Why so many genres?
Because Mitch has worn a coat of many colors throughout his life—and loved every one of them.
And because he believes every song deserves to be celebrated.
Every memory deserves a melody.
And no emotion should ever be left behind.
Welcome to Rim Radio.
Built to Take You There.
